After finishing my studies on the subject of food chemistry and food law, I am now working for a food safety authority. I stumbled upon Deviantart around 2 years ago when looking for relief after stressful days of learning.
Amazing artists here raised my interest in starting with drawing again, a thing that I had not done much at all since school times. At the moment, I'm mostly experimenting with digital art. As I only use a very affordable used Wacom Baboo Tablet and the Freeware GIMP and Krita, this allows me to experiment without wasting money and paper. ;-)
Currently I try to learn more about (human) anatomy, but also about drawing landscapes and scenery to have believeable backgrounds. I will also try to apply what I learned from James Gurney's book "Color and Light" in my future paintings. It's affordable and very good to improve one's general knowledge on these two important elements, requires some basic understanding of light and shadow though.
I takes me quite some time to finish new drawings, as there is much learning from guides, books and reference involved.
However, there is a lot of great artists whose work I collect in my favorites, so feel free to have a look there meanwhile. I add the works of artists already to my watchlist. My favorites gallery features more than 400 artists already and it will expand even more in the future. There is just too much good stuff here and I like quite a lot of genres.
